A crown or a dental cap is a type of dental restoration or prosthesis that completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. A crown may be needed when a large dental cavity threatens the health of a tooth. The most common reason for a crown is restoration of the tooth post Root Canal Therapy. Other indications are badly damaged or broken teeth, esthetic concerns, minor spacing between teeth and Smile designing.

A crown is typically bonded to the tooth by dental cement. They can be made from various materials like Metal Alloy, PFM(Porcelain Fused to Metal), Zirconia, E-Max (Lithium Disilicate), Resin, etc.

A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic device used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to natural teeth or implants on either side.
A dental bridge:
Is fixed in place (you can’t take it out).
Uses the teeth next to the gap or an implant for support.
Replaces the missing tooth (or teeth) with a natural-looking crown.
Generally these crown or bridges are cemented to the tooth with adhesive cements which provide adequate bonding and added strength to the prosthesis. Here at Dr.Jain’s Dental care, we provide crowns and bridges based on the patients’ needs and the clinical scenario of their oral cavity, teeth & gum health and position of the prosthesis.
For our patients from abroad, as part of our DENTAL TOURISM program, we make sure that the type of crown and the timeline in which the crowns are delivered are planned before-hand so that they can plan their holiday and return accordingly.
